Gowa, July 2, 2026 — The Faculty of Engineering at Hasanuddin University (UNHAS) continues to strengthen its digital transformation through the Study Program Website Development Workshop, held at the Exhibition Hall, Center of Technology (CoT) Building. The activity represents a strategic step in supporting the achievement of Hasanuddin University's Independent Key Performance Indicator (IKU Mandiri), Indicator 1.F, which focuses on developing high-quality, internationally oriented websites and social media platforms.
The workshop was attended by website and social media administrators from all departments, the Faculty of Engineering Public Relations Team, and the faculty's website development team.
Advances in information technology have transformed university websites from mere information platforms into institutional representations that reflect the quality of governance, transparency, and academic reputation. In response, Hasanuddin University, through the Directorate of Information Systems and Digital Transformation (DSITD), has developed an integrated website platform for study programs across the university.
The workshop featured the Director of Information Systems and Digital Transformation at Hasanuddin University, Dr. Eng. Ir. Wardi, S.T., M.Eng., as the keynote speaker. In his presentation, he explained how to manage the new website, covering everything from completing study program profiles and managing menus to publishing news and optimizing the various features available on the new platform.
According to Dr. Wardi, the development of this integrated website platform is part of Hasanuddin University's digital transformation strategy, which is focused not only on simplifying information management but also on strengthening the security of the university's information systems.
“The development of these study program websites was initiated to strengthen system security and prevent website hacking. In addition, with an integrated platform, individual study programs no longer need to develop their own websites independently, thereby reducing development and maintenance costs for each unit,” explained Dr. Wardi.
Participants subsequently received technical training on managing the various channels available on the new website. The features introduced included news publishing, navigation menu management, study program profile development, academic information, and various supporting pages designed to meet the standards of modern higher education websites.
The platform is also built with a standardized structure, enabling the digital identity of all Hasanuddin University study programs to become more consistent, professional, and accessible to the public, prospective students, industry partners, and international institutions.
The workshop focused not only on the technical operation of the website but also on the importance of presenting high-quality content. Study program websites are expected to serve as strategic communication platforms showcasing academic achievements, research innovations, student and lecturer accomplishments, international collaborations, and various activities related to the Tridharma of Higher Education on an ongoing basis.
In this way, the websites will function not only as information centers but also as instruments for strengthening the institution's reputation at both national and international levels.
The workshop also demonstrated the Faculty of Engineering's commitment to supporting Hasanuddin University's digital transformation policies. Synergy among the DSITD, faculty leadership, Public Relations Team, and study program website administrators is essential to establishing information governance that is effective, secure, and adaptive to developments in digital technology.
On the occasion, the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at Hasanuddin University, Prof. Dr. Eng. Ir. Muhammad Isran Ramli, S.T., M.T., IPM., AER., emphasized that the success of study program website development depends not only on the sophistication of the technology used but also on each study program's commitment to maintaining and continuously developing its content.
According to him, a website represents an institution's face in the digital era and serves as a primary source of information for the public, prospective students, partners, and other stakeholders.
“I hope all study programs will give serious attention to the development of these websites. In today's digital era, the speed and quality of information dissemination are among the indicators of an educational institution's professionalism. A website is no longer merely an administrative complement; it is a strategic medium for demonstrating the academic capacity, innovation, and contributions of the Faculty of Engineering at Hasanuddin University to the wider community,” said Prof. Isran.
Prof. Isran further encouraged each study program to ensure that published content goes beyond activity documentation and ceremonial coverage and instead provides meaningful educational value.
According to him, every news article should offer new insights, disseminate research findings and innovations, and present solutions to various challenges faced by society.
“I want every piece of information uploaded to provide value to its readers. Do not simply report that an activity has taken place; also explain the new knowledge generated, the innovations developed, or the solutions that can be applied by the community. As a higher education institution, Hasanuddin University has a responsibility to disseminate knowledge and the results of the Tridharma of Higher Education through various media, including study program websites,” he added.
This direction reinforces the understanding that digital transformation within the Faculty of Engineering at Hasanuddin University is not merely about modernizing information systems but also about improving the quality of knowledge dissemination.
Accordingly, study program websites are expected to evolve into credible and inspiring academic information centers capable of strengthening Hasanuddin University's reputation as a leading institution in education, research, and community engagement.
The workshop demonstrated that study program website administrators had gained an understanding of the new platform and were able to operate its various features. This competency provides an important foundation for managing study program information more professionally, efficiently, and in accordance with university standards.
As a follow-up, the Faculty of Engineering Public Relations Team will provide assistance and monitor the implementation of the new websites across all study programs. This monitoring aims to ensure that all study programs optimize the platform provided, enabling Hasanuddin University's Independent Key Performance Indicator targets—particularly those related to website and social media quality—to be achieved effectively.
Through the development of an integrated, secure, and internationally oriented study program website platform, the Faculty of Engineering at Hasanuddin University continues to strengthen its commitment to delivering modern academic information services, increasing institutional visibility in the digital space, and expanding public access to the innovations, achievements, and academic contributions produced by the Faculty of Engineering's academic community.
