Finalization of the Verification Process for the Recognition of FTUH Faculty Members’ PAK

The Document Verification Team for the Recognition of Faculty Members’ PAK (Credit Point Assessment) at FTUH held a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) to finalize the verification of PAK recognition documents for faculty members at the UNHAS Faculty of Engineering on Saturday and Sunday, April 29–30, 2023. During this FGD, a plenary meeting was held to discuss the documents of approximately 170 FTUH faculty members who had submitted their PAK recognition documents, which had been compiled at the department level during the previous stage.

The plenary meeting was chaired by the Head of the FTUH Faculty PAK Recognition Document Verification Team, Prof. Nasaruddin Salam. In his remarks on the sidelines of the FGD, Prof. Nasaruddin stated that following the completion of the verification process for the FTUH Faculty Recognition Documents, the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering will submit the verification results to the UNHAS Rector’s Office for further processing according to the schedule established by the UNHAS Rector’s Office, which is based on the deadlines set by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Kemendikbudristek).

This FGD was attended in person by the Dean of the UNHAS Faculty of Engineering, Prof. Isran Ramli, who also serves as the Head of the Verification Team. In his remarks, Prof. Isran stated that while the Verification Team’s findings will be further processed in accordance with the established stages at higher/authorized levels, the FTUH leadership will also follow up by implementing policies to support FTUH faculty members in applying for academic rank promotions based on the recognized Faculty Credit Point scale. “The FTUH leadership will encourage FTUH faculty members to expedite their applications for promotion to higher academic ranks, in accordance with the Credit Point Scale they have already earned,” concluded Prof. Isran. “Faculty members who have met the required number of credit points to be promoted to Full Professor but are hindered by specific requirements or criteria—such as the need to have publications in reputable journals—will receive our support through mentoring programs and similar initiatives,” said Prof. Isran. "The same applies to other faculty members who have met the required number of credit points for promotion to other academic ranks, such as from Lecturer to Senior Lecturer and from Research Assistant to Lecturer. In short, there should no longer be any FTUH faculty members who have been waiting a long time for a promotion; everyone must immediately process their promotion following the official recognition of these faculty credit points,” Prof. Isran concluded.
