FT-UH Visits the Makassar Class I Special TPI Immigration Office to Discuss Support for AIRC 2026
Makassar, January 28, 2026 – The Faculty of Engineering at Hasanuddin University (FT-UH) paid a courtesy visit to the Makassar Class I Special TPI Immigration Office to coordinate the organization of the International Symposium on AIRC 2026 and community service programs to be held in Makassar.
The FT-UH delegation was led by the Associate Dean for Partnerships, Research, Innovation, and Alumni, Prof. Dr. Eng. Ir. Rustan Tarakka, ST., MT., IPM., AER, accompanied by the Head of the FT-UH Global Engagement Office (GEO), Prof. Muh. Anshar, ST., M.Sc-Res., Ph.D., along with the GEO team. The delegation was received directly by Abdi Widodo Subagyo, Head of the Class I Special TPI Makassar Immigration Office, along with his staff.
During the meeting, representatives from the Faculty of Engineering at Unhas presented an overview of the International Symposium on AIRC 2026, which is a collaboration between the Faculty of Engineering at Unhas and the Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technology (FSCSIT) at Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM). This event is an international academic forum that will bring together academics, researchers, and practitioners from various countries.
In addition to the symposium agenda, this event will also feature a Community Service program as a form of community service and a tangible contribution by the university in supporting human resource development and strengthening international collaboration.
The meeting aimed to establish coordination and synergy, particularly regarding immigration support services for international participants and speakers attending the event in Makassar. Technical aspects, service mechanisms, and collaborative measures were also discussed to ensure the smooth and orderly administration of the event.
Prof. Rustan Tarakka expressed his appreciation for the warm welcome and support from the Makassar Immigration Office. He emphasized that cross-sectoral collaboration is a key element in ensuring the success of international academic initiatives, while also strengthening Makassar’s position as a host for world-class scientific events.
Meanwhile, the Immigration Office reaffirmed its commitment to supporting the event’s implementation in accordance with applicable regulations and to fostering intensive communication and coordination in the lead-up to AIRC 2026.
Through this meeting, it is hoped that a strategic partnership will be established between the FT-UH and the Makassar Class I Special TPI Immigration Office to support campus internationalization and the strengthening of global networks, while also providing a positive impact on academic development and public service.
