Inauguration of the JK Center
(Gowa, February 27, 2015) Indonesian Vice President Jusuf Kalla, accompanied by Mrs. Hj. Mufidah, the Minister of Research, Technology, and Higher Education, a representative of the Japanese Ambassador to Indonesia, the Rector of Unhas, and the Dean of Engineering, officially inaugurated the JK Center, marked by the Vice President’s signing of the JK Center commemorative plaque. The JK Center, consisting of the Center of Technology (CoT) building and the Center of Scientific Activities (CSA) building, serves as a hub for fostering a campus atmosphere centered on innovation and technology development, supported by a partnership model involving industry and government (Triple Helix). The JK Center also serves as a platform that promotes research collaboration among all study programs across various faculties at Unhas and partners with other universities.
The inauguration ceremony was also attended by the rectors of public and private universities, as well as former rectors of Unhas; Unhas professors and faculty members; regents from across South Sulawesi and the mayor of Makassar; and Unhas partners.
