The Technology Center (PUSTEKNO) of the Faculty of Engineering at Hasanuddin University is enhancing and expanding its international collaboration networks through a partnership with the Center for Innovative Planning and Development (CIPD) at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM). The Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at Hasanuddin University (UNHAS), Prof. Dr.Eng. Ir. Muhammad Isran Ramli, ST., MT., IPM., ASEAN.Eng.—who also serves as the Head of PUSTEKNO FTUH—held a meeting with the Director of CIPD UTM, Prof. Mohammad Zaly Shah to evaluate the results of collaborative activities carried out by both parties since 2021 following the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Rector of UNHAS and the Vice Chancellor of UTM, as well as to formulate an Action Plan for Collaboration in 2023. Both parties are committed to continuing, enhancing, and developing models of international academic collaboration based on previous initiatives. Both parties also agreed on a collaboration agenda for 2023, including the compilation and publication of a joint book (book chapter) based on the results of guest lectures and doctoral student seminars; joint research and publications in reputable journals; the organization of joint international conferences, symposia, seminars, and workshops; student exchanges; academic staff exchanges; and more.

In addition, during his academic visit to the UTM campus, the Dean of the UNHAS Faculty of Engineering, Prof. Isran Ramli, along with several UNHAS Faculty of Engineering lecturers, delivered an international guest lecture. Prof. Isran Ramli presented a lecture titled “Travel Behavior Modeling Based on Activities in Sustainable Transportation Planning” to faculty and students from UTM’s Faculty of Civil Engineering and Faculty of Architecture & Surveying. During this International Guest Lecture, organized by CIPD UTM and PUSTEKNO, Faculty of Engineering, UNHAS, other UNHAS Faculty of Engineering faculty members also delivered guest lectures, namely Dr.Eng. Ir. Rita Irmawaty, ST., MT., a lecturer in Structural Engineering in the Department of Civil Engineering at the Faculty of Engineering, UNHAS, on the topic “Utilization of Coal-Fired Power Plant Waste and PVA Fibers as Repair and Strengthening Materials for Reinforced Concrete Beam Structures,” and Dr.Eng. Ir. Muralia Hustim, ST., MT., an expert in environmental noise from the Department of Environmental Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, UNHAS, who delivered a guest lecture titled “Road Traffic Noise from Heterogeneous Traffic and Its Mitigation,” as well as Dr.Eng. Ir. Bambang Bakri, ST, MT., who presented on “Measuring and Comparing Achievements of Learning Outcomes in Higher Education in Asia (CALOHEA): Progress in the Civil Engineering Department at UNHAS.”

During this international guest lecture, Dr. Haryati Yaacob and Dr. Azman Mohamed also presented on the focus and progress of transportation research at the Department of Geotechnical Engineering & Transportation, Faculty of Civil Engineering, UTM.
