Signing of a Memorandum of Understanding Between the Faculty of Engineering at Unhas and the Faculty of Engineering at UKI Toraja Strengthens Collaboration on the Three Pillars of Higher Education
Gowa, April 13, 2026 – The Faculty of Engineering at Hasanuddin University (FT Unhas) officially established a partnership with the Faculty of Engineering at Toraja Indonesian Christian University (FT UKI Toraja) through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding on Monday, April 13, 2026. The event took place in Dean Hall on the 3rd floor of the CoT Building at the Unhas Faculty of Engineering, Bontomarannu, Gowa.
The signing of the Memorandum of Understanding was attended by the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at Hasanuddin University, Prof. Dr. Eng. Ir. Muhammad Isran, S.T., M.T., IPM., ASEAN Eng., along with the Vice Deans and Heads of Subdivisions (Kasubag) within the Faculty of Engineering at Unhas. The event was also attended in person by the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at Toraja Indonesian Christian University, Dr. Ir. Nitha, S.T., M.T., IPM., ASEAN Eng., who co-signed the cooperation document as a representative of the partner institution.
According to the Memorandum of Understanding, this collaboration covers the implementation of education, research, and community service, as well as the development of engineering programs. Additionally, the collaboration is aimed at strengthening the “Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka” (MBKM) program and various other academic activities.
The scope of the cooperation includes the development of professional engineering programs and graduate studies, the conduct of joint research, practical and laboratory activities, credit earning, and the organization of seminars, colloquia, and workshops. Furthermore, both institutions agreed to enhance human resource competencies, develop curricula, and encourage participation in national and international scientific forums.
On this occasion, the Dean of the Unhas Faculty of Engineering stated that this collaboration is a strategic step toward expanding academic networks and improving the quality of the three pillars of higher education. He also emphasized the importance of synergy between institutions in addressing global challenges in the fields of engineering and technology.
This Memorandum of Understanding is valid for three years from the date of signing and may be extended by mutual agreement. Through this partnership, it is hoped that productive and sustainable collaboration will be fostered to support the improvement of higher education quality in Indonesia, particularly in the field of engineering.
This event serves as an important milestone in strengthening institutional ties between the Faculty of Engineering at Unhas and the Faculty of Engineering at UKI Toraja, while also opening up broader opportunities for future collaboration.
