The Department of Mechanical Engineering at the Faculty of Engineering, University of Hasanuddin, Holds Overseas Internship Interviews with TAINEXAS Co., Ltd. and Shinei Steel Co., Ltd.
The Department of Mechanical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Hasanuddin University once again held selection interviews for an overseas internship program for students in the class of 2023 as part of efforts to enhance students’ global competencies and international job readiness. The event took place on March 26, 2026.
The event was attended by a number of top students who had passed the initial selection stage. From among all participants, five students will be selected to participate in internship programs at two industrial companies in Japan: TAINEXAS Co., Ltd. and Shinei Steel Co., Ltd.
During the interview process, representatives from TAINEXAS Co., Ltd. were present in person, including CEO Hajime Tai and HRD representative Miwako Sato. Their in-person presence provided students with the opportunity for in-depth interaction and to fully demonstrate their abilities, both in terms of technical skills and professional communication.
Meanwhile, the interview process with Shinei Steel Co., Ltd. was conducted online via the Zoom platform. Although held virtually, the interviews were conducted professionally with strict selection standards, including assessments of technical competence, work readiness, and the students’ understanding of the industrial work environment in Japan.
Students who pass the selection process will participate in a six-month internship program, scheduled to begin in July 2026. This program is expected to provide students with valuable hands-on experience in understanding industry practices within an international work environment.
During the interview process, students were assessed on various aspects, ranging from academic ability and technical experience to their readiness to adapt to Japanese work culture, which is known for its discipline and quality-oriented approach.
This initiative is part of the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Hasanuddin University’s commitment to expanding its network of international partnerships and preparing graduates who can compete on a global level. This internship program is expected not only to provide industry experience but also to shape students’ professional character as they face the challenges of the international workforce.
