The Faculty of Engineering at Hasanuddin University is strengthening its collaboration with the Department of Civil Engineering at UTM.

The Faculty of Engineering at Hasanuddin University has once again strengthened its international collaboration through an international symposium held in partnership with the University of Technology Malaysia. The symposium took place on Friday, May 24, 2025, in the Exhibition Hall of the Faculty of Engineering in Gowa.

The event, themed “UNHAS-UTM on Infrastructure Engineering: Sustainable Solutions for Resilient Infrastructure in Transportation and Geotechnics”, brought together 18 presenters from six countries who shared their research projects and technological insights. The event served as a vital platform for academic discourse and paved the way for collaborative innovation in addressing critical infrastructure challenges, particularly in tropical and developing regions.

Representing the Unhas Faculty of Engineering was the Dean, Prof. Dr. Eng. Ir. Muhammad Isran Ramli, S.T., M.T., IPM., AER., who delivered the welcome speech and officially opened the symposium. In addition, several faculty members served as presenters, including Prof. Dr. Eng. Ir. Tri Harianto, Assoc. Prof. Muralia Hustim, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ardy Arsyad, Prof. Dr. Ir. Sumarny Hamid Aly, and Assoc. Research. Ir. St. Hijraini Nur.

In his remarks, Prof. Isran stated that the Faculty of Engineering warmly welcomes international collaboration visits; he also noted that in the future, this symposium will produce conference proceedings or scientific journal articles. Prof. Isran also expressed hope that this event would strengthen the relationship between both parties.
