To Foster International Academic Collaboration, the Dean of FTUH Welcomes Faculty and Students from Saga University, Japan
The Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at UNHAS, Prof. Dr. Ir. Muhammad Isran Ramli, ST., MT., IPM., ASEAN Eng., welcomed faculty members and students from Saga University, Japan. The Saga University delegation consisted of Dr. Mishima Yuichiro and Prof. Dr. Oshikawa Hideo, along with two master’s students who also participated. During this meeting, the Dean of the UNHAS Faculty of Engineering was accompanied by Dr.Eng. Tri Harianto, ST., MT., who has served as the point of contact (PIC) for the collaboration between the UNHAS Faculty of Engineering and Saga University.
During the meeting on Monday, March 20, 2023, held in the Dean’s Lounge of the UNHAS Faculty of Engineering, both parties engaged in an in-depth discussion regarding plans for collaborative activities to be carried out in the near future, including a student exchange program through Saga University’s SPACE program and a dual-degree program for the Master’s and Doctoral programs in Civil Engineering—which will eventually be expanded to include all engineering programs offered by UNHAS and Saga University. On this occasion, Prof. Isran expressed his appreciation for the ongoing academic collaboration between the UNHAS Faculty of Engineering and Saga University. “The academic collaboration between the FT Unhas community and Saga University, Japan—which has been taking place regularly since 2012—needs to be maintained, and its intensity and quality must be enhanced,” Prof. Isran told Dr. Mishima Yuichiro and Prof. Dr. Oshikawa Hideo.
Dr. Eng. Tri Harianto, the coordinator for the collaboration between the Faculty of Engineering at Unhas and Saga University, reported during this meeting that the current visit by the delegation of faculty members and students from Saga University was to deliver an International Guest Lecture, discuss the progress of ongoing collaborative research between faculty members of the Department of Civil Engineering at the Faculty of Engineering, Unhas, and those from Saga University’s Department of Civil Engineering, and finalize plans for a student exchange program between the two institutions.
