MINERBA GOES TO CAMPUS
As part of a series of events organized by the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM), the Hasanuddin University Faculty of Engineering hosted a visit as part of the “Minerba Goes to Campus” initiative. The event aimed to serve as a platform for conveying information about the ESDM subsectors directly to academics in particular and the general public in general.
The “Minerba Goes to Campus” event took place at the CSA JK Center building, Unhas Faculty of Engineering, on Friday (November 22). It was attended by the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at Hasanuddin University, Prof. Dr. Ir. Muhammad Arsyad Thaha, MT; the Director General of Minerals and Coal at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, Ir. Bambang Gatot Ariono, MM, along with his delegation; the Head of the Department of Mining Engineering at Hasanuddin University, Dr. Eng. Purwanto, ST, MT; as well as faculty members and staff from the Department of Mining Engineering.
The event was opened by the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at Unhas, Prof. Dr. Ir. Muhammad Arsyad Thaha, MT. He warmly welcomed the Director General of Mineral and Coal to Unhas. The Director General’s visit marks the first step toward establishing a strong partnership with the academic community of Hasanuddin University, particularly the Faculty of Engineering.
“This event can serve as a platform for the government and the entire academic community to share scientific knowledge and exchange experiences regarding the management of mineral and coal mining. Issues related to mineral and coal resources are highly dynamic and touch on various aspects of life,” explained Prof. Arsyad in his opening remarks.
On this occasion, Ir. Bambang Gatot Ariono, MM, as Director General of Minerba, delivered a presentation on “Minerals and Coal for the Welfare of the People.” In his presentation, he explained that issues related to mineral and coal resources—which are closely tied to the Earth, water, and all of Indonesia’s natural resources—can bring prosperity to the people. In addition, he also discussed the innovations and transformations achieved by the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, as well as the challenges faced in the Industry 4.0 era.
The attendees were very enthusiastic and eager to listen to the presentation delivered by the Director General of Mineral and Coal. Many of the participants asked questions of the speaker. The event was attended by approximately 200 participants, including faculty members and students.
