As Part of the Ramadan Safari, PPKS Goes To Faculty Visits the Faculty of Engineering.

Prevention and Handling of Sexual Violence: Hasanuddin University held the “PPKS Goes to Faculty” Awareness Campaign. The Faculty of Engineering was the first to host this event, which took place on Wednesday, March 13, 2024, at the CSA Building, 1st Floor, Faculty of Engineering, Gowa.

The session was led by the Vice Rector for Human Resources, Alumni, and Information Systems, Prof. Dr. Farida Patittingi, S.H., M.Hum., who also serves as Chair of Hasanuddin University’s PPKS Task Force. The session focused on the theme “Moving Forward Together Toward a Meaningful Campus Free from Sexual Violence and Harassment.”

On this occasion, Prof. Farida also explained the 21 types of sexual violence that frequently occur on campus, with the aim of familiarizing faculty members, students, and educational staff with the various forms of sexual violence, as many people remain unaware that they have committed acts of sexual violence. Additionally, Prof. Farida discussed preventive measures and the sanctions that will be imposed on perpetrators of sexual violence.

The event was also attended and officially opened by the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at Hasanuddin University, Prof. Dr. Eng. Ir. Muhammad Isran Ramli, S.T., M.T., IPM., AER. In his remarks, Prof. Isran stated that the prevention of sexual violence must indeed become part of the culture, and therefore requires widespread public awareness campaigns. Therefore, as the Head of the Faculty of Engineering at Hasanuddin University, he fully supports this Program for the Prevention and Handling of Sexual Violence in order to realize a campus free from sexual violence.
