Hasanuddin University’s Faculty of Engineering Hosts a Visit from BRIN’s Nuclear Energy Research Organization

The Faculty of Engineering at Hasanuddin University hosted a visit from the BRIN Nuclear Energy Research Organization. The visit took place on Tuesday, August 27, 2024, in the 3rd-floor conference room of the CoT Building at the Faculty of Engineering, Hasanuddin University.

The delegation consisted of Dr. Hendra Adhi Pratama, Coordinator of Research Activities on Nuclear Fuel Technology and Radioactive Waste at ORTN; Prof. Dr. Budi Setiawan, Research Coordinator for Nuclear Fuel Technology and Radioactive Waste at ORTN; and Dr. Eng. Mochamad Adhiraga, a research collaborator in the Research Activities on Nuclear Fuel and Radioactive Waste Technology (ORTN), who were welcomed directly by the Associate Dean for Partnerships, Research, and Innovation, Prof. Dr. Ir. Rustan Tarakka, ST., M.T., IPM., ASEAN. Eng., and accompanied by the Head of GPMPR at the Faculty of Engineering, Abdul Mufti Radja, ST., MT., Ph.D. The event was also attended by faculty members from the departments of Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, and Geological and Environmental Engineering.

This visit was conducted as part of the research and development project titled “Characterization of Soil Radiocesium Adsorption Capacity in the IKN Environment and Simulation of Its Migration Using Lysimeters as a Measure for Radiation Safety Mitigation and Environmental Remediation,” under the Research and Innovation Program for an Advanced Indonesia (RIIM) Phase 4, Year 2024. The agenda included discussions on a research cooperation agreement with UNHAS and a tour of the Soil Mechanics Laboratory facilities in the Department of Civil Engineering at UNHAS.
