In Collaboration with the UNHAS School of Engineering, the Makassar Regional Construction Services Office VI Holds a Technical Training Workshop on Vocational High Schools (SMKK) and Occupational Safety and Health (K3) in Construction.
The Makassar Regional Construction Services Office VI, in collaboration with the Faculty of Engineering at Hasanuddin University, held a technical training session on the Construction Safety Management System (SMKK) and a certification exam for Junior Construction Occupational Safety and Health (K3) Specialists. The event took place from Tuesday, September 5, 2023, to Saturday, September 9, 2023, on the 3rd floor of the CSA Building at the Faculty of Engineering, Hasanuddin University.
The event was attended by the Head of the Makassar Regional Construction Services Office IV, Siti Nursiah, S.T., M.T., and was officially opened by the Associate Dean for Partnerships, Research, and Innovation, Dr. Ir. Rustan Tarakka, S.T., M.T., IPM., ASEAN, Eng., who in this instance represented the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at Hasanuddin University, Prof. Dr. Eng. Ir. Muhammad Isran Ramli, S.T., M.T., IPM., ASEAN Eng.
In his remarks, the Associate Dean for Partnerships, Research, and Innovation expressed his gratitude and appreciation to the Makassar Regional Construction Services Office (Balai Jasa Konstruksi Wilayah VI Makassar) for organizing this technical training, and pledged to support all collaborative activities agreed upon between the Makassar Regional Construction Services Office and the Faculty of Engineering at Hasanuddin University.
Rustan Tarakka also urged the participants to take this technical training seriously so they can achieve good results and receive the Junior Construction Occupational Safety and Health (K3) Specialist certificate, which will be valid for the next five years.
This technical training was attended by approximately 50 participants, all of whom are Hasanuddin University alumni holding bachelor’s or master’s degrees. All participants will receive materials from the presenters and subsequently take a test administered by the Construction Occupational Safety and Health Certification Body (LSP K3 Konstruksi).
In her opening remarks, Siti Nursiah S.T., M.T., Head of the Makassar Regional Construction Services Office IV, outlined the objectives of this SMKK Technical Training and Junior Construction Occupational Safety and Health Specialist Certification Exam, which are to implement Law No. 2 of 2017 on Construction Services, recognize the competencies of junior construction safety experts, and achieve a “Zero Accident” workplace in the construction industry.
