Pitching FTUH’s Digital-Based Engineering Startup to P2MW and the Unhas STP Incubation Program
Gowa, March 12, 2026—Held in Lecture Theater 01 of the Center for Science and Technology (CSA) at the Hasanuddin University Faculty of Engineering (FTUH), the Digital-Based Engineering Startup Pitching event was organized in preparation for the Student Entrepreneurship Development Program (P2MW) of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology, as well as business incubation programs within Hasanuddin University.
The event was attended by 10 startup teams from the Hasanuddin University Faculty of Engineering who had previously passed the initial stage of the university’s internal coaching program. The participants presented business ideas based on technology and digital innovation as part of the selection process and concept refinement prior to competing at the national level.
The Head of the Technology and Business Incubator at the Unhas Faculty of Engineering, Prof. Dr. Ir. Indrabayu, S.T., M.T., M.Bus.Sys., IPM., ASEAN.Eng., stated in his opening remarks that the development of digital-based startups is a key focus within the innovation ecosystem at both the Faculty of Engineering and the University of Hasanuddin’s Science Techno Park. He explained that the incubation program was designed to encourage students not only to produce technological innovations but also to commercialize and translate research outcomes into products with economic value and benefits for society.
Meanwhile, the Director of Technology Business Incubation and the Science Techno Park at Hasanuddin University, Dr. Fauzi Rahman Rahim, S.E., M.Si., CFP., AEPP., noted that this pitching event serves as the first step for students to enter the Unhas Science Techno Park (STP) ecosystem. According to him, Unhas STP is ready to provide support for student startups, including offering special funding slots for teams from the Faculty of Engineering, so that the innovations developed can be commercialized and utilized by industry partners and the community.
The Dean of the Unhas Faculty of Engineering, Prof. Dr. Eng. Ir. Muhammad Isran Ramli, S.T., M.T., IPM., AER., welcomed this event with great enthusiasm. He noted that the momentum of innovation among FTUH students is growing, making it essential to have an incubation space and sustained support from the faculty so that these ideas can develop into tangible products.
A similar sentiment was expressed by the Associate Dean for Partnerships, Research, Innovation, and Alumni at the FTUH, Prof. Dr. Ir. Rustan Tarakka, S.T., M.T., IPM., who commended the event. He emphasized that in addition to fostering technological innovation, this event also contributes to the achievement of the Faculty’s Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), particularly in the areas of student innovation and entrepreneurship.

The pitching evaluation was conducted directly by reviewers from the Artificial Intelligence & Multimedia Processing (AIMP) Thematic Research Group, namely Mahdaniar, S.Pd., M.Kom, and Nurhatinah HR., S.Pd., M.Kom.
Through this initiative, it is hoped that FTUH student startups can further develop through incubation, business mentoring, and access to funding, so that the resulting innovations do not stop at the concept stage but can become useful technological products with a tangible economic impact.
