The AFEO Governing Board awarded the ASEAN Engineer (ASEAN.Eng.) Certificate to the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at UNHAS at CAFEO-40 2022 in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.
The Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at Hasanuddin University, Prof. Dr.Eng. Ir. Muhammad Isran Ramli, ST., MT., IPM., at the 40th Conference of the ASEAN Federation of Engineering Organizations (CAFEO) in 2022—held from December 5–7, 2022, at the Sokha Phnom Penh Hotel in Phnom Penh, Cambodia—successfully received the ASEAN Engineer (ASEAN.Eng.) certificate, as a form of recognition and registration by the ASEAN Engineering Professional Community.
The ASEAN Engineer Certificate is issued by the AFEO Governing Board and awarded to engineers in the ASEAN region who have met the required qualifications as professional engineers. The AFEO Governing Board issues the ASEAN Engineer Certificate annually and presents it during the Conference of the ASEAN Federation of Engineering Organizations (CAFEO), which is attended by delegations from engineering organizations of each ASEAN member country.
At the 40th Conference of the ASEAN Federation of Engineering Organizations (CAFEO) held in Cambodia, the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at UNHAS—who also serves as First Vice Chair of the South Sulawesi Regional Board of the Indonesian Engineers Association (PII)—Prof. Dr.Eng. Ir. Muhammad Isran Ramli, ST., MT., IPM., was accompanied by Dr.Eng. Ir. M. Rusman, ST., MT., IPM., ASEAN.Eng. (Secretary of the PII South Sulawesi Regional Chapter), Dr. Ir. Rustan Tarakka, ST., MT., IPM. (Chair of the PII Makassar Branch), and Ir. A. Subhan Mustari, ST., M.Eng., IPM., ASEAN.Eng. (Secretary of the PII Makassar Branch). The PII South Sulawesi Regional Delegation joined the PII Central Delegation, including Dr. Ir. Syarif Burhanuddin, M.Eng., IPU., ASEAN.Eng. (Chair of the Synchronization Division, PII Central) and Ir. Bambang Guritno, M.Si., IPU., ASEAN.Eng. (Secretary General of PII Central).
One of the spokespersons for the PII Delegation present at CAFEO-40, Ir. A. Subhan Mustari, ST., M.Eng., IPM., ASEAN.Eng.—who is also Secretary of the PII Makassar Branch—stated that every Professional Engineer who has obtained the ASEAN.Eng. certificate is entitled to include the designation “ASEAN. Eng. at the end of their name, as a form of recognition for the engineering practice carried out by a Professional Engineer.
At CAFEO-40, the PII South Sulawesi Regional Delegation also participated alongside other PII delegations in the Working Group (WG) on Transportation and Logistics, which brought together engineers from ASEAN member countries. In this Working Group, the Indonesian delegation—coordinated by Dr. Ir. Hermanto Dwiatmoko, Ms.Tr., IPU., ASEAN.Eng.—delivered a presentation on the topic of “Transport Carbon Reduction Programs” in Indonesia.
