UNHAS Faculty of Engineering Conferred a Doctorate in Civil Engineering with a Specialization in Geotechnical Engineering

The UNHAS Faculty of Engineering conferred a Doctor of Civil Engineering degree in the field of Geotechnical Engineering upon Muhammad Idhil Maming following his doctoral dissertation defense, which was held on Thursday, December 8, 2022, in the Seminar Room of the CSA Building on the UNHAS Faculty of Engineering campus in Gowa. Under the guidance of a supervisory team consisting of Prof. Abda. Rachman Djamaluddin (Advisor), Dr.Eng. Tri Harianto, ST., MT. (Co-Advisor), and Ir. Achmad Bakri Muhiddin, MSc., Ph.D. (Co-Advisor), the doctoral candidate, Muhammad Idhil Maming, successfully defended his dissertation titled “Testing a Fold-Type Anchor Tensile Strength Model for Cohesive Soils.”

At the open defense, chaired by the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at UNHAS, Prof. Dr.Eng. Ir. Muhammad Isran Ramli, ST., MT., IPM., ASEAN. Eng., the internal examiners were Dr.Eng. Ir. Ardy Arsyad, ST., M.Eng.Sc. and Dr.Eng. Ir. Andi Arwin Amiruddin, ST, MT., while the external examiner was Prof. Fabian Manopo from Sam Ratulangi University.

During this open defense, doctoral candidate Muhammad Idhil Maming successfully earned his Doctor of Civil Engineering degree with an examination result of “Highly Satisfactory.” The audience at M. Idhil Maming’s doctoral defense—who is also a lecturer at the UNM Faculty of Engineering—included UNM Vice Rector for Academic Affairs, Dr. Ir. Ihsan Ali, MT., and the First Vice Dean of the UNM Faculty of Engineering.
