The Faculty of Engineering at Hasanuddin University Hosted the 11th Scientific Meeting of the Indonesian Association of Built Environment Researchers.
The Department of Architecture, Faculty of Engineering, Hasanuddin University, was selected to host the 11th Scientific Meeting of Built Environment Researchers (IPLBI). This scientific meeting was held on Thursday, October 5, 2023, at the CSA Building, 1st Floor, Faculty of Engineering, Hasanuddin University, Gowa.
The event was attended by the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at Hasanuddin University, Prof. Dr. Eng. Ir. Muhammad Isran Ramli, S.T., M.T., IPM., AER; the Associate Dean for Planning, Resources, and Alumni, Dr. Eng. Ir. Muhammad Rusman, M.T.; and the Head of the Department of Architecture, Dr. Ir. H. Edward Syarif, S.T., M.T. Also in attendance were full professors of architectural engineering from Hasanuddin University and the IPLBI executive board, the Head of the Makassar City Public Works and Public Housing Agency, Zuhaelsi Zubir, S.T., M.T., and the Special Advisor to the Mayor of Makassar, Prof. Dr. Hj. Naida Naing.
This scientific symposium featured the theme “Tropical and Archipelagic Architecture,” with several speakers, including the Mayor of Makassar, Ir. H. Muhammad Ramadhan Pomanto; IPLBI Chairperson Dr. Ir. Pancawati Dewi, M.T., IAI; Professor of Architecture at Hasanuddin University Prof. Dr. Ir. Triyatni Martosenjoyo, M.Si; Dean of the Faculty of Science and Technology at UIN Makassar and Chair of the South Sulawesi Chapter of the Indonesian Institute of Architects (IAI) Ar. Fahmyddin A’raaf Tauhid, S.T., M.Arch., Ph.D., IAI.
On this occasion, IPLBI Chairperson Dr. Pancawati expressed her gratitude to the Department of Architecture for hosting the 11th IPLBI Scientific Meeting and shared her pride in the achievement of collecting 108 articles.
Dr. Pancawati also explained that IPLBI aims not only to serve as a forum for academic discussion but also to involve practitioners from working groups, design, and practice sectors, thereby acting as a bridge between practitioners and academics.
This IPLBI Scientific Conference successfully collected a total of 108 articles, with 23 submitted in person and 85 submitted online, which we will publish in a journal after the review process.
In his opening remarks, the Head of the Department of Architecture expressed his deep gratitude to all parties involved—including the Faculty of Engineering, the organizing committee, the speakers, the participants, and IPLBI—for making this event a success. He also apologized for any inconveniences that may have occurred during the event and expressed his hope that this event would be beneficial for all of us.
