Unhas Faculty of Engineering Collaborates with BMKG to Optimize Instrument Use and Collaborative Research
During the opening ceremony of the Reconciliation Meeting of the Central Agency for Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics (BBMKG) Region IV (Sulawesi-Maluku-Malut) at the Aryaduta Hotel, on Monday evening, July 10, 2023, the Dean of FTUH, Prof. M. Isran Ramli, signed a Cooperation Agreement (PKS) with the Head of BBMKG Region IV, Dr. Irwan Slamet. The CA covers the following activities: Optimizing BMKG instruments in the Sulawesi-Maluku-Malut region for use by faculty members and student researchers in related fields at FTUH in particular and at Unhas in general; Construction of a Meteorological, Climatological, and Geophysical (MKG) Station on the FTUH campus; and Utilization of research and innovation outcomes from FT Unhas researchers to support the official duties of BMKG staff and officers; as well as Research and Publication Collaboration between FT Unhas researchers and BMKG researchers. The signing of the MoU by both parties was witnessed in person by the Deputy for Instrumentation, Calibration, Engineering, and Communication Networks at BMKG Headquarters, Muhammad Sadly, PhD, along with a research team from FTUH, including the Head of RIDE (Research Institute for Disaster Engineering) at the UNHAS Faculty of Engineering (Dr.Eng. Ardy Arsyad), the Head of the Geo-Environment Research Laboratory (Prof. Tri Harianto), and a Senior Geotechnical Researcher at the UNHAS Faculty of Engineering (Achmad Bakri Muhiddin, Ph.D.), as well as the Associate Dean for Partnerships, Research, and Innovation at the UNHAS Faculty of Engineering (Dr. Rustan Tarakka).
