Unhas Faculty of Engineering – Department of Architecture Holds Graduation Ceremony for the 4th Cohort of the PPAr Program and IAI Membership Oath Ceremony
Gowa, September 1, 2025 – The Professional Architecture Education Program (PPAr), Department of Architecture, Faculty of Engineering, Hasanuddin University, held the PPAr Class IV Graduation Ceremony, which was combined with the Oath of Membership for the Indonesian Institute of Architects (IAI). The event took place on the 3rd floor of the CSA Building on the Faculty of Engineering campus at Hasanuddin University (Unhas) in Gowa and was attended by university leadership, IAI officials, the academic community, and the graduates.
The Head of the PPAr Program, Dr. Rosady Mulyadi, in his report, highlighted the program’s achievements and progress, while also expressing appreciation to the fourth cohort of graduates who have completed their professional education.
The Head of the Department of Architecture at the Unhas Faculty of Engineering, Dr. Edward Syarif, was also present to offer his support and appreciation, emphasizing that the success of PPAr graduates will strengthen the contribution of Unhas architecture alumni to the professional world.
The Rector of Hasanuddin University, represented by the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Prof. Dr.Eng. Ir. Muhammad Isran Ramli, ST., MT., delivered opening remarks and officially inaugurated the event. In his remarks, he emphasized the importance of architects’ role in sustainable national development, as well as Unhas’ commitment to continuing to produce professional graduates of integrity.
The highlight of the event was the reading of the alumni names by the PPAr Quality Assurance Unit, followed by the recitation of the IAI Membership Oath, led by the Head of the IAI Mediation and Advocacy Board, Mr. Ar. Yudha Ernawan, representing the IAI President. With the recitation of this oath, the graduates officially joined the IAI, the largest professional organization for architects in Indonesia.
A valuable opportunity was also given to a student representative, Heny Violitasari, S.Ars., Ar., who shared her reflections and a message on behalf of the graduates. Following that, Ar. Yudha Ernawan delivered another address on behalf of the IAI President, emphasizing that the architectural profession demands ethical responsibility, innovation, and dedication to society.
The event concluded with a reception, marking the end of the solemn ceremony and the beginning of the journey for the fourth graduating class of Unhas’s Architecture Program as professional architects and official members of the Indonesian Institute of Architects.
