Unhas Faculty of Engineering Holds Kickoff for the “Unhas Faculty of Engineering 65th Anniversary Cup” with Sports Competitions

Gowa, July 18, 2025 — To celebrate its 65th anniversary, the Faculty of Engineering at Hasanuddin University is hosting a sports tournament titled “Unhas Faculty of Engineering 65th Anniversary Cup”. The official kickoff of this event took place at the Unhas Faculty of Engineering Campus in Gowa, marking the start of a series of competitions among the academic community.

The tournament features nine sports: futsal, basketball, tennis, table tennis, badminton, chess, tug-of-war, sepak takraw, and esports. The event aims to strengthen camaraderie and foster a spirit of sportsmanship among students, faculty, staff, and alumni.

As part of the opening ceremony, the event also included a table tennis fun match involving the Faculty leadership and department chairs. This exhibition match was played with great enthusiasm and served as a symbol of unity and the warm, family-like atmosphere within the Faculty of Engineering.

The Dean of the Unhas Faculty of Engineering, Prof. Dr. Eng. Ir. Isran Ramli, S.T., M.T., IPU., ASEAN Eng., in his remarks, expressed appreciation for the organizing committee and the enthusiasm of the participants. He also emphasized the importance of building camaraderie through positive activities such as sports.

“The anniversary is not merely a ceremonial event, but a moment to strengthen collaboration and a spirit of camaraderie within the Unhas Faculty of Engineering. Through sports, we instill the values of cooperation, healthy competition, and solidarity,” said Prof. Isran.

The series of competitions will take place over several weeks, and all activities will culminate in the main celebration of the Unhas Faculty of Engineering’s Anniversary, scheduled for August 2025.
