Visit the Faculty of Engineering: The Director General of Railways Delivers a Guest Lecture.
Director General of Railways Ir. Moh. Risal Wasal, A.TD., M.M., IPM. AER. once again visited the Faculty of Engineering at Hasanuddin University. This visit was part of a guest lecture on Railway Development Policy and Spatial Planning, held on Wednesday, May 29, 2024, in the Lecture Theater of the CSA Building at the Faculty of Engineering in Gowa.
In addition to Ir. Risal, the visit was also attended by the Head of the South Sulawesi Railway Management Office, Fathir R. Siregar. The delegation was welcomed directly by the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at Hasanuddin University, Prof. Dr. Eng. Ir. Muhammad Isran Ramli, S.T., M.T., IPM., AER, accompanied by the Manager of Resources and Alumni Affairs, Prof. Ir. Andi Haris Muhammad, S.T., M.T., Ph.D., the Chair of the Department of Urban and Regional Planning, Dr. Eng. Ir. Abdul Rachman Rasyid, ST., M.Si., IPM., the Head of the Pustekno CoT, Dr. Ir. Muhammad Ramli, MT., IPM., and the Head of the Administrative Office, Dra. Rakhmawita, M.M.
In his opening remarks, the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Prof. Isran, expressed his hope that this guest lecture would enrich our knowledge, particularly regarding urban development. Prof. Isran also conveyed his appreciation and gratitude to the Director General of Railways for agreeing to visit the campus of the Faculty of Engineering at Hasanuddin University, located in Gowa Regency.
In his presentation, Ir. Risal explained the railway system in Sulawesi, covering policies, implementation, and future plans. He also took this opportunity to engage students in a more in-depth discussion about railways and spatial planning in South Sulawesi.
This guest lecture is part of a series of events marking the 20th anniversary of the Department of Urban and Regional Planning at Hasanuddin University. In addition to this, there are many other events in the series, such as international seminars, community service initiatives, and more.
