A Collaboration Between the LPJK of the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing and Hasanuddin University’s Jakarta Campus Holds a National Workshop for Expert Assessors of Building Failures
Jakarta, July 28, 2025 — The Construction Services Development Agency (LPJK) of the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) collaborated with Hasanuddin University’s Jakarta Campus to host a Case Study Workshop on Building Failure Assessment, which took place in a hybrid format at the Unhas Jakarta Campus, Jl. Petojo Utara 7, Central Jakarta.
The workshop featured national figures as speakers and facilitators, including Prof. Dr. Ir. Jamaluddin Jompa, M.Sc., Ir. Taufik Widjoyono, M.Sc., and Prof. Dr. Ir. Agus Taufik Mulyono, S.T., M.T., IPU., ASEAN Eng. Meanwhile, the discussion facilitators included Prof. Dr. Ir. Nuroji, M.T., Prof. Dr. Ir. Iswandi Imran, S.T., M.A.Sc., Ph.D., and Dr. Ir. Herry Ludiro Wahyono, S.T., M.T., IPU., ASEAN Eng.
The event was officially opened by the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at Hasanuddin University, Prof. Dr.Eng. Ir. Muhammad Isran Ramli, S.T., M.T., who was present on behalf of the Vice Rector of Unhas. In his opening remarks, he stated that this workshop is part of a collective effort to support Continuing Professional Development (CPD) and to enhance the capacity of Expert Assessors of Building Failures in Indonesia.
> “Building failures are an inevitability in the construction industry. The role of expert assessors is crucial to ensuring that standards for safety, health, sustainability, and accountability are met. Through this workshop, we are building synergy between the academic and professional worlds to promote better national construction quality,” said Prof. Isran.
He also reaffirmed Hasanuddin University’s commitment to producing expert construction professionals through education and strategic partnerships with LPJK and the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR).
LPJK data indicates that there are 390 registered Expert Building Failure Assessors throughout Indonesia. Twenty-one of them are from South Sulawesi, and nine of those are from Hasanuddin University.
This workshop also provided tangible benefits in the form of SKPK points and official certificates, while serving as a preventive educational forum for students, faculty, and construction practitioners to comprehensively understand and analyze building failures.
This event reflects the synergy between the government and universities in enhancing the quality and professionalism of human resources in the national construction sector.
